It’s finally the big day! Things are going to get moving and busy.
But don’t forget these 10 simple tips to ensure a smooth and flawless wedding day.
1) Remove static cling on your gown
Because of the heavy fabrics layering in the gown, static will be produced.
Simply run the long side of your wire hanger over your gown and in between the slip.
2) Baby Powder everything
Wearing a wedding dress can get really hot, unless you’re wearing a short dress or a gown that is not puffy and ultra-layered.
So this heat can cause you to sweat a lot and lead to uncomfortable chaffing in your thighs.
And if you’re wearing a corset dress, you’ll get chaffing around your ribs and near your underarms.
To provide maximum comfort, simply coat yourself with a thin layer of baby powder before putting on your dress to stay dry and fresh.
3) How to keep your veil in place without it flying everywhere
Don’t wage a war with your flyaway veil. Sew in some veil weights at the end of your veil to keep it down.
This is extremely handy when you have an outdoor wedding during the windy season.
4) Attach weight inside the hems of your bridesmaids’ dresses
The same goes for your bridesmaids’ dresses. Sew some weight inside the hem of their dresses so they stay down on a windy day.
5) Prevent your heels sinking into soft ground
If you’re worried that your stiletto heels will sink into the soft grass or sand, invest in Solemates or heel attachments.
These will help increase the surface area of your heels and prevent your heels from sinking.
6) Wear a cute outfit while you’re getting ready
If you have a photographer around taking pictures while you’re getting ready, be sure to wear something nice so you look good in the pictures too.
You don’t want to be seen wearing your worn-out Winnie the Pooh slip-ons do you?
Also make sure you’re wearing a button-down shirt or a robe; anything that doesn’t need you to pull it over your head and mess up your hair and make up.
7) Prepare a bridal emergency kit
You’ll never know if some hiccups may occur and it’s too troublesome to get back to the bridal room to get things fixed. Prepare a small bag with emergency essentials with you at all times. This could include tissue napkins, bobby pins, mints, lip gloss, safety pins, etc. Have one of your bridesmaids carry it with them through the day so you always have access to it.
8) Prepare a spare pair of shoes
Bridal shoes are gorgeous but they’ll seriously kill your feet if you’re wearing them the whole day. Prepare a pair of standby flats to give your legs a break from the heels.
9) Stay hydrated
With all that buzz going on through the day, don’t forget to keep hydrate yourself periodically.
Not only is it important to drink water to keep yourself cool, keeping yourself hydrated reduces sebum production on your face, so your make up will last longer and look fresh.
10) Don’t sweat the small things
Bear in mind that no matter how meticulous your planning has been, some small hiccups will happen here and there.
But don’t get too affected and turn all bridezilla.
Your day is already perfect as you are already marrying the man of your dreams, with the blessings from your loved ones.
So take this day to appreciate the blessing and soak in your new found bliss!
